Behaviour support · Sydney
Understanding the behaviour changes it. Punishing it rarely does.
Support for Sydney parents of neurodivergent children whose behaviour is misread as wilful, when it's usually communicative. From a UK-qualified teacher who spent seven years in school SENCo teams.
Most “behaviour problems” in neurodivergent children aren’t behaviour problems at all. They’re communication problems. A child who refuses to do their homework isn’t being defiant; they’re telling you something about executive function, anxiety, or sensory overload that they don’t yet have the words for.
Laura spent 10+ inside UK school SEN teams decoding what behaviour is actually communicating and building practical strategies that reduce flashpoints before they happen. She saw first-hand the difference between approaches that escalate and approaches that work.
